Jaw-dropping location and resort with super kind and helpful staff. Room with stunning views and nice amenities, including a flat-screen TV and an electric kettle. The beach access is mind-blowing, with plenty of sun loungers and beach umbrellas. The pool is awesome, and there's even a poolside snack bar. The fitness centre is great for those who want to stay active, and there's also a game room and children's play area for entertainment. The spa offers a wide range of relaxing treatments, from massages to facials. The on-site restaurant and coffee shop serve delicious food and drinks. this place is a paradise for those seeking a peaceful and rejuvenating retreat.

Continental breakfast was good and always sufficient.

Evening buffet not very fresh and badly seasoned. Many things are prepared and kept warm under heat lamps. Quality suffers as a result. Extra costs for the use of swimming pool and hotel parking

Beautiful view and a shower, a bidet and towels in the bathroom. Also within walking distance of the beach. The pool area is great too.

The hotel needed an upgrade.

For the price we paid, we got great value and a comfortable room. The location was perfect, with a peaceful and beautiful beach just a short walk away. The staff were friendly and attentive, making us feel right at home.

The hotel breakfast menu could have been improved with a bit more variety.

15€ for a parking space on the hotel grounds is too much. Because of the early departure in the morning we got only one bag with a measly picnic. This does not correspond to the level of a four-star hotel. The noise level in the restaurant was loud and disturbing.

Very good breakfast. Room facilities + large TV in many languages... Hotel complex is great with views of the golf course and sunsets from the balcony. The beach is very beautiful and can be explored quickly on foot.

Arriving in your own car is an advantage, the area is almost deserted outside the main season. The surrounding nature & cities are great! The hotel's rental bikes are extremely bad.

Great staff, friendly and helpful. Good facilities including fast Wi-Fi, delicious food, and clean pools. Beautiful views from the rooms. Enjoyable stay, will definitely return.

The hotel was clean and had nice views, especially overlooking the golf course. The staff were friendly and accommodating, with the assistant manager being particularly helpful. The hotel had a spa that was enjoyable to use, and the cuisine offered was exquisite. The location of the hotel was perfect for golf lovers, being right next to a beautiful golf course.

There were several negative aspects of my stay. The staff were rude and unfriendly, refusing us entry to the restaurant even though it was still open.

The beach was beautiful and perfect for a romantic stroll. The rooms were comfortable, and we appreciated the fridge and kettle. The golf course looked impressive, even though we didn't play.

The hotel was too isolated with no restaurants or shops nearby. The food was average and overpriced, and the buffet menu was repetitive.

I loved this place! The location just opposite the golf course was perfect for me as I am an avid golfer. The rooms were spacious and had a lovely balcony with a view of the pool and golf course. The staff were friendly and the service was top-notch. I also enjoyed the wide variety of food and drinks available, and the breakfast was one of the best I've had at a hotel. The amenities, such as the spa and pools, were luxurious and provided enhanced comfort and relaxation.

I highly recommend this hotel to everyone.

The Costa Ballena is, for the connoisseurs, like an Andalous Knokke le Zoute ;-) a huge resort, mixed of second residences, hotels, golfs and spas + the beach, familial and acceptably clean. The Barcelo Costa Ballena Hotel was a pleasant surprise. The rooms of the Barcelo are perfectly clean, climatisation without reproach (very important when you have 40°c), the meals are excellent and the staff very nice. Two large swimming pools, a spa (20 euros per day, per person, but ask the promotion: same price for two). Activities for the children (this is a place to go with children, but even without, if you don't detest their noise! Ask a room in the Bloc n°4, which is not in front of the swimming pools). My spouse and me we recommand this hotel!

Beware the desk! Some of them are competent and serviceable, but there is a certain alba and her manager which are utterly incompetent. They forgot to ask our credit card at our arrival, never asked for it during the week, then canceled our access to the room the last day; we went to the desk, they requested our credit card before giving us access to our room - in which laid, of course, the credit card in question. I had literally to shout on the rude male clerk at the reception desk who barely spoke any other language than Spanish and who obviously lacked proper training in guest relations. Given the quality of the rest, this was an entertaining detail!
